COBRA Employee Health Insurance Plans

Federal COBRA Coverage for Employers in Erie, PA

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) requires employers that have at least 20 employees and provide an employee health plan, including retiree medical, to offer identical coverage (for up to 18 or 36 months) to covered employees or qualified beneficiaries when coverage is lost due to a qualifying event.

Are you interested in having a third party take over your COBRA Administration? We can introduce you to several COBRA vendors that can handle all of the various notifications that are required to be sent to eligible employees.

PA Mini-COBRA Health Insurance

Mini-COBRA has some important differences from the federal COBRA law. The federal COBRA law does not apply to plans sponsored by employers with fewer than 20 employees.

The PA's Mini-COBRA law requires small employer plans (with less than 20 employees) to provide continuation coverage (up to 9 months) for members who are terminated from coverage due to a qualifying event.
