Jim received his B.A. from the University of Colorado, and subsequently achieved the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. He holds Graduate Degree Certificates in Advanced Estate Planning and in Advanced Pension Planning.

Jim is a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters and life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He is also a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the Erie Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
